Yuri Oreskiewicz

The one with a passionate eye, creative and very focused; Yuri’s a Métis artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is known for his ability to bring unique solutions and creative shots to any project. As Lead Producer and Director, he’s got the ability to transform the smallest of ideas into meaningful creations. He knows how to put a team together to collaborate on projects that are engaging, innovative and memorable.

In 1995 Yuri obtained a business loan to start his video production business and became the first Aboriginal Business in Western Canada to utilize VTASC technology to edit video digitally (use computers to edit video).

Along with numerous awards for his contributions to award winning community programs his producer credits include numerous videos for Indigenous Festivals and Powwow events in Canada and the US. In the past he volunteered his time and resources to supply, set-up and operate audio-visual equipment for a Canada Day Aboriginal Celebration at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society.  This celebration was also used as a venue by the Ministry of Aboriginal Child and Family services to introduce Aboriginal foster children to their culture.  

YourEye’s documentary “Nobody’s Children” is shown on a permanent exhibition at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
